Just a quick note if you are looking to make a Pumpkin Spice Latte at home to feed your Starbucks PSL addiction: This is NOT the cure. Since you can’t buy the original syrup, I searched until deciding that this looked like a good option. I ordered two bottles (mistake) and then it arrived so on this cold March morning I fired up the Capresso and then… WHAM !!! Had to dump the cup. That bad!
In all fairness, some people may find this flavoring to be good, but I’d bet anything that none of those people are ones who “discovered” PSLs from Starbucks. Now I have two more bottles to go out for recycling, and learned a $22 lesson – I could have had 5 PSLs at Starbucks! Ouch!!!

I bought this after seeing it in a high-end gourmet coffee shop. I found it to be a bit strong and overpowering. Don’t put too much in your coffee. I prefer the natural taste of real pumpkin.

Nasty aftertaste. Bought two bottles thinking it sounded good since I love pumpkin flavored foods and drinks. This is the worst flavoring I’ve ever had. Couldn’t choke down the first drink I put it in. Tried to give the rest of the bottle to friends with no success. Poured down the drain. Only nice think about this product is the bottle. Heavy glass bottle and it looks good. Monin needs to learn a lesson from Stirling regarding pumpkin flavored syrups.

I had my 1st Pumpkin Spice Latte at Au Bon Pain (at work). It was delicious, not too sweet and pretty spicy! There’s no Au Bon Pain around where I live so I tried one from Starbucks. It wasn’t bad but I didn’t like it at all (toooooo sweet).
This morning I ordered Pumpkin Spice Latter at ABP again and this time, I was able to spotted a bottle of “Monin” syrup. They’re using Monin !?!?!?!
I think it depends on individual taste. I know many people love Starbucks Pumpkin Spice latter. To me, ABP version is much better and I believe they use Monin Syrup.

I first tried a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, and it is the only kind of latte/coffee I have ever really loved. I make my own now with this syrup and it tastes a lot better than the Starbucks one because I can make it the way I like it!!!
As far as the former negative review is concerned, I work in a coffee shop and have tried lattes many different ways, and the taste of the latte depends more on the brand of espresso and the espresso maker (machine and person) than on the syrup. (Unless you are buying the Monin Coconut, which is horrible and far too strong. And I would recommend using a Hershey’s caramel syrup rather than the Monin.) Try a few different brands of espresso before deciding that it is the syrup that you don’t like. When you make the espresso, be sure to pack it in as tightly as you can, but don’t overfill it. Make sure there aren’t any grinds in the espresso before you mix it with your drink.
The Pumpkin Spice is definitely my favorite!!! You’ll like it if you like chai with espresso too. I can’t drink chai; it keeps me up all night even if I drink it at 6am.
